Trudi’s School of Motoring has updated its Privacy and Terms and Conditions Policies effective 1st February 2019. We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting your personal data.

PRIVACY POLICY: This document provides details of how we collect and process your personal data.

Trudi’s School of Motoring is the data controller responsible for your personal data. It is important that the information we hold about you is accurate and up to date. Please let us know of any changes by emailing us at enquiries@trudiboyce.co.uk

PERSONAL DATA: Personal data is any information capable of specifically identifying you.

We may process the following categories of personal data about you:

• Contact details that you send to us or directly to your trainer whether that be through the website, by email or text, via social media messaging, social media posting or any other communication that you send us. We process this data for the purposes of communicating with you, for clear record keeping and for legal reasons. Our lawful ground is to reply to the communications sent to us and to keep legal records.

• Customer data relating to the driver training services such as your name, address, email address, phone number, driving licence details and bank details. We process this data to supply the services, to refund unused monies and to keep accurate records. Our lawful ground is that you have requested details, or require a contract to be set up between us.

• Photographs and testimonials that include data relating to your driving experience with us and possibly a driving test or assessment, such as your name, your driving test date and driving test result. We process this data to market our services to potential clients and to promote our brand through our social media channels and website. Our legal ground is that you will have given specific verbal agreement at the time for these to be used.

SENSITIVE DATA: We need to collect the following sensitive data about you in order to provide driver training services:

• Your driving licence status, endorsements and details of any convictions. We require this data in order to ensure you are legally permitted to drive and in order to comply with insurance regulations. This information will be recorded on file.

Where we are required to collect personal data by law, or under the terms of the contract between us and you do not provide us with that data when requested, we may have to cancel the service you have ordered but will notify you in advance.

We will only use your personal data for the purpose it was collected.

We may process your personal data without your knowledge or consent where this is required of us by law.

DISCLOSURE: We may have to share your personal data for specific purposes with the parties set out below:

• The Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency (DVSA) and Pearson VUE, when you request us to book any driving theory tests or practical driving tests on your behalf.

• Professional advisers including lawyers, bankers, accountants and our insurers.

• Government bodies that require us to report to them.

We require all third parties to whom we transfer your data to respect the security of your personal data and to treat it in accordance with the law.

SECURITY: We have put in place measures to prevent your personal data from being lost, altered or disclosed to others.

RETENTION: We will only retain your personal data for as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes we originally collected it for, including for the purposes of satisfying any legal, accounting, or reporting requirements.

For tax purposes the law requires us to keep basic information about our customers for a maximum of 7 years.

WEBSITE LINKS: Our website may include links to other organisations. Clicking on those links may allow third parties to collect or share data about you. We do not control these websites and are not responsible for their privacy statements.
